Washington DC

The city looks nice, but the traffic is horrible…

The Dragon & Blue Ridge Parkway

Maybe the most famous motorcycle road in the USA is the Dragon: 318 curves in 11 miles. And the mountains in this area are the bikers paradise! And there are a couple of motorcycle campgrounds, too.

It‘s also where the Blue Ridge Parkway starts: a road up to the north east along the ridge of the Appalachian Mountains, 755km without any Stopp signs or traffic lights and no trucks allowed! Right after that the Skyline Drive starts, another 170km of the same, through the Shenandoah National Park.

And there’s a town called Little Switzerland!

Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral

After visiting the launch sites in Baikonur/Kazakhstan I also wanted to see the historic sites in Cape Canaveral, where the Apollo missions and the space shuttles have been launched. Now SpaceX is using this very same launch pad for their Falcon 9 and soon hopefully for their crewed missions.
